Director & Principal Consultant

Sherie Bruce is an Aboriginal woman from the Northern Territory and the founder and principal consultant of Culture to Country. She brings together Aboriginal knowledge, professional consulting experience, and scientific and research expertise developed across more than two decades of work in government, academia, environmental science and Aboriginal engagement.

Sherie has worked extensively with Australian Government agencies, the Northern Territory Government, universities and research institutions, environmental and conservation organisations, and Aboriginal communities and organisations across the Northern Territory and remote Australia. Her work spans policy and strategy, research ethics and Indigenous data governance, environmental and natural resource management, and cultural capability and professional training.

She holds qualifications in environmental science and has worked in and with Aboriginal communities throughout her career. She understands the practical realities of working in remote and regional Australia, and the requirements for doing so effectively, ethically and with genuine respect for Aboriginal people, knowledge and Country.

Culture to Country was established to provide organisations with access to specialist advice that is grounded in both professional expertise and lived experience — advice that is practical, contextually informed and genuinely useful.
